Vixens of Vanishing Island By Candice Reed

Synopsis:
It’s been a decade since TV reporter Audrey Walsh walked out of a luncheon in tears after a disagreement with nine of her girlfriends. Ten years have passed since she last spoke to the women she thought were her best friends. When an invitation comes from a mysterious person inviting her to star on a reality show called, "Vixens of Vanishing Island," filmed on a remote island in Australia, Audrey jumps at the chance. But upon arriving, she experiences a shocking sense of déjà vu. Audrey and the nine other vixens are stunned to find out they have all been lured to the island, and the reunion quickly turns to heartbreak and horror as they are subsequently murdered one, by one. This novel was inspired by Agatha Christie’s bestseller, "And Then There Were None."

Review:
Captivating, gripping and unique
Inspired by the bestselling Agatha Christie novel “And Then There Were None,” comes an exciting mystery novel worthy to be compared.
Audrey Walsh hasn’t seen nine of her best friends since the breakup ten years before. After being invited to do a reality show, she soon discovers and meets up with her nine friends again on an island in Australia. What could this mean? Why have they all been chosen for this show? Then to their horror, they eventually all begin to be murdered one by one.

This is a true irresistible nail biting murder mystery. I was on the edge of my seat turning the pages quickly with anticipation of who was committing these horrific murders. Just when I thought I may have figured it out another riveting twist would emerge. It is humorous at some points to keep it light and break some of the tension. But the horror of the murders and who is next will keep you gripping your seat.

I loved “Vixens of Vanishing Island.” It’s compelling, intriguing, sexy and fun. This book is written with much detail and forethought. The writing is excellent.
The plot was well thought out and moves quickly. The characters each with their own unique personalities are intricately woven into the storyline.

This is a great summer read with all of its beachy components. But I recommend it for anytime you’re craving a great true mystery. The twists and turns will keep you contemplating who done it, needing to know the truth. I loved the ending of this great read, as there is a surprise ending that is fulfilling for the reader. The book is authentic, unique and very well written. If you are a true mystery lover you will savor each page.
Author Candice Reed has successfully composed a great murder mystery book. “Vixens of Vanishing Island” is the first book in her up and coming “Beach Books” series.
We are anticipating her next installment in the series.

Book Review "The Coven" By Chrissy Lessey

Synopsis:
The future queen awakens…

Newly single mother Stevie Lewis divides her time between raising Charlie, running a store with her best friend, and avoiding the meetings of her mother’s Beaufort Historic Society. Although her life has its challenges, it’s altogether average. Just the way she likes it.

When Vanessa, a ruthless dark witch, launches an attack against young Charlie, Stevie’s simple life derails, and her long-dormant powers awaken. A 300-year-old secret is exposed, revealing her destiny to one day rule the clandestine community of witches who hide in plain sight.

Now she must master her own magical powers before it’s too late. Because Vanessa’s on the warpath, and only Stevie can stop her.

Review:
This is the story of Stevie and her struggle to protect her son Charlie, who has autism. She needs to protect him from a coven of witches that have set an attack on Charlie. She learns of her own powers and a secret that is 300 years old that will lead her to her destiny.

Stevie’s relationship with her autistic son Charlie is an interesting component to the story. We learn much about how she deals with him as well as how he thinks and relates.
Stevie must also contend with an ex husband and has several other people in her life.
I loved that readers are transported and get to delve into the exciting area of the supernatural, as author Lessey writes it well.

Set in the town of Beaufort, the descriptions of the scenery and characters are very vivid and well written. I felt like I was there and part of the story. A delight for the imaginary senses. This is a fast exciting read as the plot develops and moves forward quickly. The past is interwoven with the present so well, I was impressed by the authors ability to bring the two together in a meaningful important way.
The interesting characters are well written and developed. I loved their personalities, quirks and wit. They are all integrated into the storyline with precision and aptitude.

I loved “The Coven” By Chrissy Lessey. I couldn’t put it down and turned the pages quickly wanting to know what will happen next. This is an exciting read filled with twists, intrigue and witchcraft.
But it is also warm and down to earth as Stevie lives her life with her son and the others in her life.
This is an extremely well written book. You can tell the author has experience in writing. There is clear direction with the plot and the characters are woven in nicely. The storyline itself is imaginative and creative.
Over all “The Coven” is an excellent book worth reading. With a slight cliffhanger of an ending, we are looking forward to Lessey”s next installment in the series.
